The Tickets
Canning Town, London

KEN SCOTT - GUITAR & VOCALS JOHN McGEADY - BASS
ANDY SCOTT - DRUMS

Another talented band that fell by the wayside, in some ways too pop for punk or maybe too punk for pop? The Tickets turned up on many a support slot, usually with the UK Subs, throughout 1978. Many would first hear them on the "Farewell To The Roxy" LP with the classic "Get Yourself Killed" recorded at one of their many dates at the Roxy Club. The line up fluctuated throughout this time, finally settling down to the three piece we know and loved in the summer of 1978.

Championed by Gary Bushell in "Sounds", who published an interview with the band in the "Sounds" 19th of August, 1978 edition, The Tickets did finally get around to issuing a single in 1979; "I'll Be Your Pin Up" / "Guess I'll Have To Sit Alone" 7" (Bridgehouse Records; BHS 3) but split up soon after.

John went on to work with at Bridge House venue and label, Andy with the Cockney Rejects, whilst Ken formed one of the most underrated bands of the 80's,Wasted Youth, who sang tales from the dark side of the street that would have made Lou Reed proud.

I Want You To Know

Please Don't Tease

Guess I'll Have To Sit Alone

glad all over
